Change control and history

Two separate panels, both in the left bar. They answer two different questions.

Change control: "what did I change?"

It lists changes made locally and not yet synchronised. Before uploading you can examine them one by one and undo selectively the ones you do not want to keep.

It is the right place to go when:

  • you made a bulk change and want to check it before it becomes final for everyone;
  • you cannot remember whether you actually made a correction or only thought about it.

History: "what was it like before?"

It shows earlier versions of the archive saved in the cloud. From here you can:

  • browse old versions;
  • open them read-only, to compare them safely;
  • restore the archive to an earlier version.

WARNING

Restoring takes the whole archive back, not a single record. Before using it, open the version read-only and check that it really is the right one.

Note

Change control and History exist because the archive is connected to a remote one. On a local-only archive the safety nets are different, and they are there anyway: undo/redo, trash, automatic snapshots and record history, described in Trash, snapshots and history.
